2022 Fenix
Our fifth release of our top red wine is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Shiraz.
The fruit has been grown in the Hilltops, Hunter, and Orange regions of NSW, with the Shiraz component coming predominantly from the Hunter Valley and the Cabernet sourced from the remaining two regions.
The wine is a dark, cherry-red in colour with aromas of stalky redcurrant, cherry, aniseed, and tar backed by vanillin oak from 18-month barrel maturation. The palate is full bodied in weight with complex flavours of leafy cassis, anise and cherry with a balanced toasty oak and tannin finish. Bottled under cork with a wax finish for the traditionalists.
A lovely wine which would pair well with lasagna, stews, and lamb shanks or your favourite cheese.
