2024 Sweet Semillon Verdelho
A perennial favourite at cellar door, this wine delivers on all fronts, with the winemaking team stopping the fermentation to retain the natural juice sweetness in the resultant wine.
The wine is pale straw with green tints in the glass, with inviting aromas of citrus bud, kaffir lime, and pineapple. The palate is fresh and not overtly sweet with lychee and pine-lime flavours and balanced by a sherbet acid finish.
This wine would obviously suit desserts but also goes well with spicy shellfish dishes (think Spanish mussels) or Mongolian lamb.
