2023 Fénix
Our flagship red, this version continues the tradition of a blend of Mudgee and Hunter fruit. The Mudgee region provides the Cabernet Sauvignon fruit (70 %) while the Shiraz came from our top Hunter Valley vineyards.
The wine is deep red/crimson in colour and the wine exhibits a lifted and complex lattice of redcurrant, cherry, blackberry, anise, and white pepper aromas against a background of vanillin oak.
The palate is medium weight and textural, with flavours of redcurrant, blueberry, star anise and mocha-like oak.
The wine possesses a balanced tannin, oak and acid finish and is a great accompaniment with casseroles, barbecued or roasted meats.
