2024 Primera Reserve Tempranillo
The Reserve Range from Iron Gate Estate is carefully crafted using extended barrel aging. We reserve longer barrel aging for fruit from our new & younger barrels , allowing us to develop greater depth, complexity, and character while preserving the fruit’s natural qualities.
A warm and dry year in the Hunter Valley has produced a wine ruby red in colour, with a
savoury bouquet of cherry, tomato, bay leaf, chinotto, and oak aromas. The palate is
medium weight with a savouriness pushing through the mid-palate of bay leaf, dark fruit
and star anise and a dry acid and tannin finish. This wine is perfectly suited to roast lamb
and pork dishes.
