2024 Primera Shiraz Tempranillo
A blend of 80 % Shiraz and 20 % Tempranillo, this wine is made from fruit from the
Hunter Valley (75%) and Orange (25%) regions.
Deep red in colour, the spicy bouquet exhibits complex aromas of cherry, liquorice,
cola, olive tapenade and nutmeg oak. The palate has a myriad of flavours with
blackcurrant all-sorts, cherry, bay leaf and anise finishing with soft tannin and oak
flavours. Still in its infancy at the time of writing of these notes, this wine will mature
well over the next 5-7 years with careful cellaring.
This wine will complement red meat dishes such as T-bone steak, roast lamb, paella
and roast vegetables.
